When creating a green roof it is ideal to have a gentle slope of 1:120 (1cm to every 120cm) the flatter the better. You can install a green roof with a much steeper pitch although you may require to install supports and you should contact us if you need advice.
To prepare the roof it should first be thoroughly waterproofed. Our range of green roof waterproof products are idea for this purpose.

Our sedum is conveniently delivered to you on a pallet. This is a pallet of our ‘Ready to Lay’ Sedum Green Roof Tiles, which are a particularly easy and convenient way of creating a green roof as They are delivered in 500mm x 500mm squares, ready for you to lay straight onto your roof.

When the roof is thoroughly waterproofed and the sedum has arrived, simply lay the ready to lay sedum roof tiles in position side by side. Then complete the job with a retaining strip which is also available from the sedum supply roofing materials range.

The finished roof. Initially you may be able to see the joins between the sedum tiles, but they will very quickly knit together to provide a beautiful, uninterrupted sedum turf.

The colours on your sedum roof will change throughout the year providing a truly living roof. The green roof will blend perfectly with the vegetation around it, helping buildings to disappear into their natural surroundings and encouraging a diverse range of bird, insect and plant life.
